Howdy!

My name is Erik Howard, and I'm a Writer/Director from Grand Rapids, Michigan. If you're reading this now, thank you! I'm glad you've taken interest in learning about my life and my filmmaking world.

Finding my passion was something incredibly difficult for me growing up. As I would sit watching Monsters Inc. and The Incredibles on repeat as a child, to getting out of High School early and sobbing to Rom Coms like Before Sunrise and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, I kept asking myself... what do I want to do?

​

So naturally, as films became my one source of emotion and creativity... I decided to be a business major. I began my college education at GRCC pursuing said major, and eventually found myself rotting away at the proposition of balancing accounts for firms. 

​

That was until my English Professor gave me a chance. She allowed me to write about these films that had impacted me, and in those writings I discovered what many call... a passion.

Two years later, I found myself at Grand Valley State University where I would go on to fulfill my passion to one day work on a film. Since then... I've worked on over 10 productions, from cinematography, to pyrotechnics, to directing my very first short film.

And that brings me to you. If you're reading this, I'm ready to work on another.
